Randy Endorsed by the WNY Council of the Communications Workers of America

Randy Endorsed by the WNY Council of the Communications Workers of America

September 3, 2021

As we wrap up this week before Labor Day, I’d like to thank the Western New York Council of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) for their endorsement in the Town Supervisor’s race.

CWA represents workers across several different industries. The union represents workers in communications and information, public service, higher education, healthcare, manufacturing, and several others.

A strong organized union has an enormous impact on a person’s career - I have experienced it, personally. I look forwarding to working with and earning the support of many more organized unions in our area.

I am proud to announce that I have received the endorsement of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 10. These workers are responsible for the burgeoning entertainment industry in Western New York. They support concerts, state events and help give us all an escape when we need it. IATSE represents over 150,000 workers nationwide in all forms of theatre, motion picture and TV production, concerts, broadcasting and several other areas of the entertainment industry.

Thank you to IATSE Local 10 for the endorsement! I look forward to standing with you as we support organized labor.

August 31, 2021

Thank you to the Teamsters Joint Council #46 for endorsing me in the race for Hamburg Town Supervisor!

The Joint Council represents three Teamsters unions throughout Western New York and I am honored to have their support in this election. The Teamsters started out as a union for freight drivers and warehouse workers, but today they represent 1.4 million workers in professional and nonprofessional occupations in both the public and private sectors nationwide. In addition to securing decent wages and great benefits for members, the Teamsters union is also active in community outreach.

I look forward to standing with the Teamsters as the union continues to be a voice for the rights and aspirations of working men and women.

I am proud to announce that the Carpenters Local Union 276 has endorsed my candidacy. This is our local chapter of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. With over 29,500 members nationwide, the union sets high standards for skills in the construction industry. The union develops strong labor laws to serve honest workers and employers. The Carpenters union fights for fair labor standards and sustainable capital construction programs that help create jobs and stimulate the economy. Job and economic growth enhances communities, not just locally, but everywhere.

Thank you for standing with me! I look forward to working with you and supporting workers as well as the broader Hamburg community.

Hoak Campaign Press Release on Police Funding

Hoak Campaign Press Release on Police Funding

August 27, 2021

Hamburg Town Supervisor Candidate Randy Hoak has joined Town Board Members Shawn Connolly and Karen Hoak to call for current Supervisor Jim Shaw to increase police funding over 2020 levels in his upcoming 2022 Supervisor’s Proposed budget.

The Hamburg Police Department saw only a slight reduction in funding during the 2021 budget, with lower than expected gas & oil expenditures as a result of reduced travel during the pandemic substantially contributing to the change. While the small rollback in funding, which was approved by a 5-0 bipartisan Town Board vote, was considered to be responsible pandemic budgeting, it’s imperative that Hamburg utilizes available funding to ensure our local police force is able to safely and effectively protect our community.
